Sustainability & Responsible Business
NAH Foods Limited exists to make healthier eating genuinely accessible. That purpose extends beyond our products to how we treat our people, our suppliers, our communities and the environment. We are working toward B Corp certification as an independent, external check on these commitments — not as a marketing exercise, but as a discipline that holds our Board and management accountable. This page sets out where we stand today, honestly, including the areas we are still building out.
Our purpose
NAH Foods Limited exists to make healthier eating genuinely accessible — developing and manufacturing low-carbohydrate, keto-friendly and plant-based food alternatives that let people enjoy the foods they love without compromising their health goals. We operate a portfolio of consumer food brands, including Better Than Foods, Keto Skinny, Keto Chef, Chef2Plate and our Konjac-based product range, sold through Amazon, UK retail and trade channels.
Our purpose is to create long-term value not only for our shareholders, but for the people who work for us, the customers who buy from us, the suppliers we work with, the communities we operate in, and the environment we all depend on. As part of our B Corp certification process, our Board has approved a special resolution to amend our Articles of Association to formally add a stakeholder-governance object — committing the Board to have regard to the interests of employees, customers, suppliers, the community and the environment, alongside shareholders. That resolution is on track to be passed and filed at Companies House shortly; this statement reflects our purpose and intent regardless of the exact filing date.
In practice, this means we:
- Formulate products to genuinely support healthier lifestyles, rather than making unsubstantiated health claims
- Aim to build a workplace where our team is treated fairly, paid appropriately, and given room to grow
- Deal honestly and fairly with our suppliers and trade partners
- Work to reduce the environmental footprint of our manufacturing and packaging over time, and to be transparent about where we are on that journey
Equal opportunity and inclusion
NAH Foods Limited is committed to being a fair and inclusive employer. We are an equal-opportunity employer and do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability, or any other protected status.
In practice, this means hiring decisions are based on skills, experience and merit; pay is reviewed to ensure it is applied consistently by role and experience rather than by any protected characteristic; and requests for flexible or part-time working are considered on a case-by-case basis. We extend the same non-discrimination and fair-treatment expectations to our suppliers and contract partners. As our team grows, we intend to introduce more formal diversity monitoring appropriate to our size.
Human rights and responsible sourcing
NAH Foods Limited publicly commits to respecting human rights across our own operations and our supply chain, consistent with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights, and the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. This is our own commitment, not only an expectation placed on suppliers.
We strictly prohibit the use of child labour anywhere in our operations or supply chain, and require all employees to meet minimum legal age requirements. We do not use forced, bonded or compulsory labour in our own operations, and expect the same of our suppliers and co-manufacturers. We pay all employees fairly and in line with UK statutory requirements, and provide a safe working environment with a confidential route for anyone to raise a human-rights-related concern without fear of retaliation.
On procurement: new suppliers are asked to confirm compliance with applicable labour laws as part of onboarding, and where concerns about labour practices are identified, we engage with the supplier to seek resolution. We do not yet operate a formal, audited supplier human-rights certification scheme; as our business grows, we intend to introduce a simple supplier self-declaration as part of onboarding.
Climate action
NAH Foods Limited recognises that food manufacturing has an environmental footprint — through energy use in manufacturing, water use, packaging, and transport and logistics. We support the global ambition to limit warming to no more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, and see our own plan as a contribution to that ambition, proportionate to our size.
Several of our products, including our Konjac-based range, are plant-based, which generally carries a lower carbon and water footprint than animal-based alternatives. We monitor our energy, water and waste data as the basis for future reporting, and select packaging with a view to reducing unnecessary material where commercially and practically possible.
Over the next 12–24 months we are committed to:
- Establishing a clear baseline for energy, water and waste so future reductions can be measured against a fixed starting point
- Reviewing packaging materials across our brand portfolio at least annually, with a preference for recyclable or reduced-material options
- Asking key logistics and co-manufacturing partners about their own emissions-reduction practices
- Investigating practical, low-cost efficiency measures at our premises
We report progress against these commitments to our Board at least annually.
We do not yet have a certified carbon baseline or third-party emissions audit. This is a genuine, forward-looking plan rather than a claim of current carbon neutrality.
Public policy and lobbying
This sets out our approach to engagement with government, regulators and public policy processes, so our stakeholders can see our current activity — or lack of it — in this area.
We do not currently engage in lobbying, do not make political donations, and do not employ or retain lobbyists, public affairs consultants, or trade bodies to influence legislation, regulation or public policy. Our interactions with government and regulatory bodies are limited to ordinary regulatory compliance (for example, food safety, environmental health and tax reporting) and are not undertaken to influence public policy outcomes in our favour.
Should this change in future, any such engagement will be conducted transparently in our own name, disclosed to our Board, based on reliable and credible evidence rather than unsubstantiated claims, and undertaken only to the extent it contributes a positive impact on society or the environment — never to seek narrow commercial advantage at the expense of our stakeholder purpose. We will not make political donations or comparable in-kind contributions using company funds, and will not offer, give, solicit or accept bribes, facilitation payments, or other improper inducements in connection with any public policy activity.
We do not currently hold membership in any trade association, industry body, or other collective-action organisation. We periodically consider whether membership of a relevant body would help advance shared industry standards, sustainability practices, or worker welfare, and would disclose any future membership, its purpose, and any associated dues here.
Raising a concern
Employees have a confidential route to raise concerns about unfair treatment, workplace conflict, or policy violations through their manager or HR, as set out in our Employee Handbook.
If you’re a supplier, customer, or a member of the communities we operate in and want to raise a concern about our conduct, products or practices, you can contact us directly at [email protected] or via our Contact page, marked for the attention of a Director. We investigate every concern raised in good faith and aim to respond within 10 working days. No one raising a concern in good faith will face any adverse treatment as a result.
These commitments are reviewed by our Board at least annually. Last reviewed: 20 July 2026.
